CHRISTMAS PARADE REMINDERS

Remember to send a bag of individually wrapped candy to school on Friday or bring it with you to decorate the float! (Friday night at 5:30 at Kidd Ford)

If your child is riding in the parade, please have him/her at Farmer's Market by 2:00 on Saturday. Look for CA people near the end of the parade line-up; we are numbers 83 and 84. Dress in layers and remember Pioneer period clothing!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We are so thankful to have such wonderful families here at CA! Thanks for celebrating with us and thanks to all those in the kitchen for making our lunches so yummy.

As we talked about all that we have to be thankful for this year, we also talked about how fortunate we are and how blessed it is to share and give what we have. Our class participated in making shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and we had SO MUCH FUN! I had hoped to assemble 3 boxes, but thanks to your generosity we were able to donate 8 boxes!!! We prayed for the 8 boys and girls that will receive these boxes and I encourage you to pray for them at home, too.

HE WAS CAUGHT...

...being good that is! I am so proud of Brady. He is often helpful, but this week I found him doing something when he didn't know I was looking. He was helping others pick up their scrap papers off the floor after he had already cleaned up his own mess. WAY TO GO!

Caught this week

Ivy was caught sharing her crayons with friends this week. They didn't have a certain color they wanted and Ivy did. She quickly made an excellent choice and was more than happy to help her friends. Thank you, sweetie, for always being willing to help others!

What a busy week!

We learned about Johnny Appleseed and all about apples. Aren't we cute in our apple hats?

We got to eat a lot of fun snacks this week...sliced apples, "Johnny Appleseed sandwiches", applesauce, apple juice and "tasty toast". We also participated in SEE YOU AT THE POLE. Finally, we had "Pet Day" as a celebration of all the wonderful creatures God has made for us to enjoy. We had several visitors - some alive and some stuffed - and it was most certainly a fun day for everyone! Thank you parents for sharing your family pets with us!

PET DAY

"In wisdom You made them all, the earth is full of Your creatures." Psalm 104:24
We are learning about animals this week and are excited about bringing our pets to the classroom on Friday, Sept. 28th. All parents are invited to come to our "crazy zoo" from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Each student will have time to share about his/her pet. Students may also bring a picture or stuffed animal if they are unable to bring a pet.

YOU'VE GOTTA LOVE THE FAIR!!

After an extremely busy week, we can all look back and talk about how much fun it was (I hope!) At least I know one group of kids who had a blast on their field trip to the fair. Can't you tell? My informal poll shows that the petting zoo was definitely the favorite!
I just want to thank Ms. Earline for letting us go. Also, a big thank you to Mr. Geoff Griffin for taking care of our lunch while we were there! And last but not least, thanks to the MANY parents who volunteered their time and vehicles so that we could get to our destination! We appreciate ALL OF YOU for making Covenant Academy such a wonderful school.

See You At The Pole

See you at the Pole isn't groups, grades, clothes or churches. It's about praying. It's about all of us coming together and laying aside all the labels for one day simply to call out to God, just as Jesus did in John 17 and say, "Lord may we be one in you--whether jocks, preps, geeks, Pentacostals, Baptists, Catholics, one-year-olds or 4th graders--may the world believe that You are real and have sent us to touch others through You, regardless of the dividing lines drawn by a broken world!"

So are you in? Are you ready for whatever group you're in to join us in the circle?

Join your generation of faith on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 at 8:00am, Gather in the front parking lot, Unite in the name of the One Who died to save you, and Pray for our school, friends, and families.
COME TOGETHER, just as Jesus prayed we would.

Covenant Academy will be ordering "See You at the Pole" shirts, these shirts may be worn on September 26, 2007.

Last day to order: August 31, 2007

You may give your order to your child's teacher or to Ms. Earline.

Thank You,
Ms. Earline
